The third lug was part of an aesthetic design that Marco felt was important. He wanted to bring some “weight” or mass to the enter line of the watch, given that the crown with the subtle guards, meant that the right hand side of the watch was overly weighted.
The aspect you mention Bruno, is a smaller part of the why. Also these watches do not have spring bars, rather they are solid steel bars with a screw on either end that secures the strap. I’ve enjoyed a WG Johann for many years prior to letting it go, when I ordered my RG Georg.
Your RG Johann is a quintessential dress watch, executed at the highest level. Congrats on joining the L&H club😉

I enjoyed this watch for almost 11years. A wonderful piece, but the Georg grabbed me when I saw the prototype in Basel 2017. That was it for me, the Johann had to make way😉
