Horological Meandering

Need to find a watch to compliment the backpack and briefcase/messenger bag below.  The PAM372 and IWC Big Pilot are obvious choices but I need something suitable for an Asian size wrist.  I've looked at the smaller IWC Pilots and Panerai Luminors but I think they lose a bit of flavor in the downsizing so I'm hoping you gentlemen have some fresh ideas.  Oh, and lets take Rolex off the table too, though I did consider the new 2016 37mm steel Yachtmaster with anthracite color dial.

JLC tribute to Geophysic is the winner. The hunt for a NIB or LNIB steel version begins!

I love the cream dial of the previous model (shown) over the current version.

AP safari is in the right genre, especially the NAME but it wears huge, like a 47mm Panerai

would be more of a match if they used the fake patina brownish lume instead of the new bright green superluminova

But this classic seems pretty yummy to me.  Put it on a brown strap and I think it would be a perfect complement to your bag.

love the mark xv but this watch is going to be a gift so it has to be new in box

love this bronze oris and the tudor black bay bronze as well but they are SOOOO BIG made for giant Teutonic wrists

The Oris is 42mm, relatively small by my standards

I think the lug to lug is 50-52mm vs 48mm lug to lug for most 40mm diameter watches

That one is a gem and fits as a great watch. Not too small despite the numbers, and has a pretty significance presence, especially on the bracelet.

I know this is nit picking and super OCD but I have one issue with the black bay 36 and its that the crown with the black spacer ring sticks out way too far from the case body. the crown is a thick crown which is appropriate for a sports watch but the useless spacer adds like two mm of the crown jutting out from the case.
its not as noticeable on the full size black bay but it really sticks out at me on the bb36

I completely agree, the spacer on all the Tudor heritage models drives me insane. I can't deal with it and it's the principal reason I don't own one. So don't worry, but I know it doesn't bother everyone. In regards to the shoes, thanks! They're not too fancy, just doc martins. If I was you though, consider a Mark XII and send it in for an IWC overhaul and you'll have a new watch! They're relaxing the crowns with the fish logo on them too!

The Annual Calendar version or GMT complications add additional function, plethora of material and color choices. Plus arguably the best movement being produced in any quantity.

Zenith Pilot Type 20 40mm .. they wear small since the lug are very short just like those on 372..
However IMHO to suit your ChromeHeart bag you chose, you do need the bronze case (zenith Pilot type20 bronze 45mm) with brown leather strap.

The Zenith Pilot Type 20 is a good match, the 40mm size is perfect, and the price is reasonable. I'm going to take a look at the zenith type 20 while looking for a LNIB SS JLC tribute to geophysic The bags are by Wellington & Cromwell, not Chrome Hearts.

i love how the dial matches the strap exactly but that tropical dial looks too good to be true which makes me skeptical....lots of fake tropical dials out of asia now.
