Horological Meandering

I'm more modern than vintage but I still own few of them

 By: Alkiro1 : August 3rd, 2017-00:04
The very first one was my Hamilton Otis "Reverso" from 1938. Almost 80 years old now WOW!!! What I particularly love is its history.

How much this is?

Hello. It's not an Eternamatic

 By: Alkiro1 : August 3rd, 2017-03:08
Sorry but we don't talk about prices here. You should have a look at eBay or Chrono24 to find one.

Warm welcome here by the way.

Best wishes

As Alkiro already pointed out, pricing - apart from potentially the RSP on new watches smile

Looking forward to seeing and reading more from you here - welcome!

That's a very cool watch!

And it's not like there are that many different brands of Reversos smile

Thanks for sharing, Alkiro!

Oh yes 😉

Bellmatic

 By: jml_watches : August 3rd, 2017-03:35
Hi Similar era to your Eterna

Was great value, it's still going strong. It's also an alarm - so a big win for me! Cheers JML

Do you use the alarm much?

 By: KMII : August 3rd, 2017-08:43
Been looking at getting one of these for a whilesmile

Thanks for sharing, JML!

Not greatly

 By: jml_watches : August 3rd, 2017-14:56
More a case it's there if I want it. Applies to all my alarms, not just a Bellmatic.
Alarm quite quiet - might be function of age. If you're wearing it you'll notice it , but not sure if you'd be woken by it of a morning.
If you want loud - a cricket is the way to go, or my Oris alarm is also pretty loud.
Think it's probably something akin to having a chronograph - nice to have, but not necessarily used that much.
Have to say been pretty much spot on since had it. Also they're not hugely expensive so easy to get & also lots of choices in terms of style & dials.
I've been very happy with mine & for me one of the iconic alarms.
Happy hunting
JML

Thanks JML!

Useful information, that. And as you said - timing things with a chronograph is the exception, rather than the rule smile

Also an Eternamatic

 By: nomadgiles : August 3rd, 2017-03:40
just like this one which was my fathers (but sadly stolen in a house break-in)

One I still have that was passed down to me is this:

Similarly fast & funky with your Eterna ;-)

Cheers

Giles

Great heirloom, Georges!

 By: KMII : August 3rd, 2017-11:18
Really cool Omega, that. Was that the start of your love of watches?

Yes, it was and it marked my forever and permanent love of vintage watches especially OMEGA. It is the brand of which I have the most of vintage watches and plan to add more

 By: georgeszaslavsky : August 3rd, 2017-11:58
Also as I said a while back, I am a very modest collector but when budget allows and permits to buy a watch, I hunt very very meticulously and toroughly, this is how I purchased three great vintage Omegas this summer.

Cool!

Now I still lack both the knowledge and the time to immerse myself deeply into the vintage world...
