Always fascinated by a Perpetual Calendar Chronograph....and finally got that.
I am very happy with my 5270G-013.
It really has everything I need in a watch.
I wish I had a 'grail' that was at least reachable...
...but barring a major windfall this one will probably stay out of reach. I love the simple (though kind of useless) complication that essentially is hidden in plain sight. I love stainless steel for the lighter weight than gold, and for the durability/stealth. I love the case shape and the relative thinness. Not sure I'd change anything about this other than to make it cheaper : ) Ref. 5950A
A rare example that demonstrates that Patek can really finish a movement exceptionally well! Love the interior angles on that movement but sadly they‘re completely absent even in the overwhelming majority of their high end pieces!

Ya know, after about 40 years of actively enjoying horology...
...there is no single grail. Akin to when asking which vehicle is the best? Maybe the 'grail' is a Pagani, but also could be a Ford Superduty 350 (for towing the Pagani to track events in a nice enclosed trailer.). Could be a motorcycle, especially for travelling efficiently through parts of India.
Sure a modern F1 car is fast, but would it really be 'the most fun' to drive on track? What about the fun-filled Formula Ford, or vintage Lotus.... not ultra-fast yet very fun.
And for rock crawling fun or hill climbing....
Imho there is no single all-encompassing grail timepiece, as one must also realize that different moments and tasks also dictate what may be considered the 'grail'. Plus which metal bracelet or leather / rubber strap?

I saw it in person when it was released, and I was just floored by the creativity and the mechanics. I also love the idea of having a working thermometer on my wrist. And on top of that, it comes in a reasonably wearable case design. I haven't inquired, but I am guessing that they are all spoken for already. Or at least by the time I save up the funds for it, they'll probably be long gone! Maybe I can be the second owner of one someday!
I once thought my grail was a Rolex day date in platinum until I tried one on and couldn’t lift my arm. Now maybe it’s a Patek 5226 who knows. Cheers

. . . but, like all true Grails, may be just financially out of reach.
I'm afraid to ask the guy who has one . . .
. . . and offered it for sale. The list price in '03 was $20K. I believe they've gone for under that in recent years. But they could also be on the way up.
The Purists dilemma: to get the Grail, or let it remain a Grail.
