so not only a historical piece but sentimental too....doesn't get much better than that..!!  A piece like this is the only way I could wear a Luminor so one day I'll start checking out auctions, I wonder what they will bring out this year though...the Panerai thread had some very interesting ideas.

You can even see Catalina clearly.  We had some amazing sunsets last week.

. . . at least not in my neck of the woods. That is such a lovely piece, Allen. My local Patek dealer had one last year and I had a chance to inspect it. That case is a real beauty.

I didn't like the case at the beginning just seeing it in pictures.  After seeing it in the metal, it's just irresistable.  The grey dial goes very very well with the PG case.   The movement is no slouch either.  Overall, it's a heck of a watch.  Thanks for your comments, Jeff
