Well…I finally did it …Seiko GS SD in the house and glad too !
My first reaction out of the box was OMG !! I can’t believe the level of fit and finish on this thing (on par if not better then a lot of the watches I own or owned), accuracy has been within +/- 1 sec so far (amazing!!). Before this GS purchase I never held ,worn or even seen one it person but it was a risk I had to take to satisfy my curiosity…. after a little over a week of ownership I definitely think I got my money’s worth and then some ! J J
I first took notice of the Seiko Spring Drive back it 2005 when it was voted watch of the year on a another reputable watch forum. It was up against some super power watch brands and against some really amazing watches. I have been curious maybe somewhat obsessed but hesitant to pull the trigger on one, my thoughts were, “ its only a Seiko…is it really worth the money?” but then again…. I don’t remember a week go by in the last 4 - 5 years where I don’t look up GS Seiko’s on various forums.
One in particular that really sparked my interest is this GS Spring Drive, I think the SD technology is definitely a break through in horology, under appreciated, misunderstood and most likely will be studied/copied by some of the Swiss brand manufacturers because of its efficiency and accuracy. (Maybe coolness too) J . Definitely a lot of positive and amazing things Seiko is doing out there.

I've been really impressed by what I've seen in pictures, and what I've heard from those who have owned or experienced Grand Seikos in the metal. Your sentiments seem to echo those previous comments. I can't wait to see one for myself.
