Horological Meandering

I had the pleasure of joining Jester and Fernando for a very pleasant lunch in Hong Kong recently, followed by an afternoon of watch ‘Boutique-ing’.

Nice watches, is that what they were serving for lunch?

That Audemars Piguet Equations of Time is quite a stunning piece. Although I can't say I'm fond of the bezel markings, it is still my favorite piece with an equation of time.

As you're a big fan of the Reverso 8 Days, which are your thoughts on this special one?

I am familiar with the volume of the XGT case, so the Septantieme was immediately familiar, although the extra weight is noticable. The dial and colour pallete is really special. Balanced displays and with beautiful gray and silver highlights and very nice guilloche. Not so enamoured with the fonts used, and I would prefer them to be a bit larger, but that is minor. Nice to see the well finished calibre and I loved the (?) blue printing on the movement.

I see why you enjoy it so much.

... and was pretty 'full' with those great watches, but just to prove that we ate something, here was my Hainanese chicken. Only in Asia do chickens have this great corn-fed colour and flavour.

What a great way to spend some of your leisure time.

No slouchers there.  It is very rare to see four such awesome pieces together and not a common one among the group.  Each one is just amazing and such a nice variety.

WOW, Andrew your trip to HK looks you had great and fantastic time there. i can recognize the first pic in this post taken from LandMark in Central HK in which has full range of high-ended and luxury shops there. i am very happy and in fact envy you can try on some many great timepieces at one go

apart from watch hunting, where else did you visit?

Landmark in Central, close to the F.P.Journe Boutique and many other great AD's. I only had a couple of days free, so it was very focussed eating and watch shopping. My idea of fun and relaxation, actually!
