Horological Meandering

4 days in basel, more than 5800 pics, more than 30 appointments... a strong headache on Saturday (thanks to the Harry Winston team for the 2 pills which were a true relief...) and more important, a lot of encounters and chats with friends!

I think that all these reports will take me more than 1 year of work...

I'm mightily impressed by the - De Bethune (can they stop producing models after models of drool worthiness so our heart can have a little rest?), the GO openwork (All I can say is WOW!), the Harry Winston (it looks great on your wrist! Much better than previous press shots), the Urban Jurgensen (looks gorgeous!), and the KV (I wonder if the back look different?)

I always admire your for being inpartial to any brands.  A few are very intriguing to me - What is that Voutilainen?  Breguet 10 Hz and Jurgensen...  These are what I am much anticipating more details.

No offense to you or Kari, but I am quite surprised that you were permitted to put the unique tourbillon on your wrist when it is the property of someone else who has not yet taken delivery!  When my new KV piece arrives my hope will be that I am the first -- perhaps I am overly hung up on this issue, but it does seem a breach of etiquette to me.

Whist I can understand Garys stance completely, to clear the air, Kari was given carte blanch by myself in regard to promoting our tourbillon at Basel. Whilst I am justly proud to be the owner of such a beautifully crafted piece, my satifaction comes in facilitating the creation of these wonderous objects and sharing them with like minded persons. I hope this unique piece gets the coverage it deserves, because it is no ordinary tourbillon. I now look forward now to my next collaboration with Kari, should he have the patience to work with me again. Regards, Colin.

It's a very personal thing: whilst agreeing entirely with Gary's view had there not been such carte blanche given, your approach is to be much admired.
