Horological Meandering

I was there in the mid-'60s . . .

. . . while on a field trip with my classmates.  French archaeologist Roman Ghirshman was present, and gave us a brief lecture on the history of the site.

I wish I am as lucky as you and get to see them in person, did you enjoy your trip?

Hard to remember after fifty or so years . . .

. . . but yeah, even then, I knew that was a special moment, to be savored forever.

I do recall learning on that trip that one should never pack Pepsi in a thermos.

Thanks for sharing that LEROY watch MTF!  First time I've heard of the company.  Big fan of chain and fusee endowed watches.

Blancpain so wrong and so right

 By: kolosstt : March 23rd, 2015-14:37
Sorry, but the L-evolution just doesn't represent a watch expected from Blancpain. - Ok, the heart is purely Blancpain.
So the casing is some 45deg twisted Panerai or Monaco? - No, it's completely Blancpain.

Great. I like its look and the package with the double complication. Skeletonized, sharp and sporty.
Nice watch, what do you think?

I was strangely attracted to the double whirly Blancpain

That's why it made my "Interesting" list.
Tourbillon AND Caroussel.
Funky case and materials.

Carrousel

I read somewhere that there were thoughts of abandoning the carrousel, because of its lacking popularity compared to the tourbillon.
Anyway, I am pleased to see that this complication found its way into a latest release again.

Let's keep the carrousel a vivid element of watchmaking culture!

One of the more interesting ladies' watches...

...of recent years IMO.

Thanks for the live pix!

Blancpain are going to cater more for ladies complications

 By: MTF : March 27th, 2015-05:26

That sounds a bit like a statement from an OB/GYN specialist, but seriously, Blancpain are bringing in future, more complicated mechanical watches fro ladies that are not issued in gents' versions.......

It may be a market-led trend?!?

MTF
