I still think these (RM) are the ultimate sports watch.

The design, the feel on the wrist etc. Especially the smaller and lighter models.
But I completely understand your feelings. Fortunately it’s not something I need to worry about any more as prices have long ago taken me out of the market.

But it got a lot of attention more than I wanted and this turned me off from the brand as a whole to be honest But I agree with you it was rather discrete
Now I would rather get an AKRIVIA AK-06 or a Gronefeld remontoir
But for the price, it's hard not to go with so many alternatives like those you mentioned. The RM10 in particular is quite lacking in finishing by comparison.
They are still a grail watch for me. The 11 is what got me into this in 2007/2008.

A lot of hype now days too, just for kicks go and take a look at the RM's that sold in the collectors market back in 2008. It is crazy.. This is a great wrist shot and love the sandblasted look. I can see why you miss it.

That ship has sailed now I’m eyeing more important stuff that’s relatively the same price Check out the akrivia ak06 if u get a chance Kicks RM in the a$$ with much much better value for the money Real value
It is in rotation on my screen saver daily. Superb watch for certain with a fascinating story of such a young watchmaker. One to watch for sure. Thank you
By pure PM, I mean one that is free from association with some sports figure or other celebrity. The RM 010 came out at a time when most RMs were pure. Today, I think every RM is impure. There are just different degrees of impurity. The least pure RMs are the ones that have the celebrity's name on the front of the watch. Tolerable levels of impurity are ones like the RM 67-02 that fortunately only mention the name of the back. Why does it matter? Suppose you actually have a watch you keep long term. Imagine you have it 20 years later. Nobody is going to even know or care about the celebrity whose name is polluting the watch.
