I'm assuming it will have the same benefits as the AP forged carbon case.  I don't know how the case will look like after a big ding, but I'm assuming it'll have tiny frays like with the AP forged carbon.  In any case, the look of this RM carbon case will be awesome.  I personally don't think RM watches are heavy, so for me the lightness of this new case really isn't a factor for me, but the new look is the highlight for me.

I held the watch briefly during Watches & Wonders; other than the lightness, is feels quite different from forged carbon. Richard Mille says the focus was on having a tough, durable material. The wood-like grain is also interesting, gives it a unique look.
