Jaeger-LeCoultre

Not so sure the watch would be much thinner with a solid case back. Yes, I think the alarm would be louder with a solid case back. And yes, I would have preferred a much more different lume for the minute hand.

Balanced with pros and cons.

It dawned on me, the Polaris Mariner is a very beautiful watch that happens to be a dive watch. The dive specs are secondary to its unique looks.

I much prefer the Tribute to 1968 to this, but that piece has a lower water resistance.

Polaris Mariner is a piece which says, you must like me for who I am. I am not perfect, but to many, I am a very beautiful. I don’t have to be perfect, but I can still take a 300m deep submersion and am distinct enough from the other pieces. An exotic piece it is.

It will become an oddball watch I believe so.

(I would have saved up for one, if not for 2 things - the bracelet has no dive extension, and the lume is not legible enough for night dives - need bigger surface area)

Yes, the price is very steep for this piece. I feel it.

Thank you Nico for taking much time to write this post.

The Tribute lays another card, the card of Nostalgia and vintage. This Mariner Memovox is a much more modern vision. Thanks, my friend.

Love the dial, though not quite...

as much as the US LE edition of 800 pieces. The vanilla indices made the watch very warm.

Perhaps the Polaris Date Limited Edition Q9068681?

Though I'm not sure it was a US edition, and lacks the alarm of course. But the "Blue Double Gradient" dial with off-white numerals is certainly beautiful, and it came with a very nice strap. If that's the watch Dean was referring to, I can certainly see the appeal.

Your bracelet remark:
"Why did Jaeger Lecoultre didn't think of a quick setting of the bracelet length, through the buckle?"
Unbelievable! The cheapest-of-the-line, the Polaris Automatic, comes with a very similar looking bracelet with quick adjust! So they thought of it, but couldn't be bothered to put it on the top-of-the-line model.
