the Polaris 1965.  I was at the boutique yesterday evening.  Having ordered a Polaris a while ago without actually having seen it, and then changing my mind and cancelling the order, I held the 1965 version in my hand for the first time last night and fell in love with it.  The plexiglass is stunning, as is every facet of the watch.

So, it is now on order again (I hope I can still get my lucky number), although I am not sure I can contain my excitement until November

the Polaris 1965 that I saw was a working prototype.  However, only the hands were luminous.  Is that how the actual production Polaris will be, or will the batons be luminous too.

Anyway both are really beautiful.

Regarding your question and after reading back the press kit the dial is supposed to be luminescent too (on the 1968), the contrary would not make sense IMO.

You should also remind that the dial may be modified before production.

yes, I have ordered one of the 1968 re-editions. Now the interminable waiting begins :-(

The Pola which only has luminous hands will be the Boutique Edition, and the noe you show in your pic is the LE of 768 pieces, available worldwide...

I did in fact go for the 1968 which appealed to me as a more sporty looking watch. The prototype only had luminous hands and I am hoping that the actual watch will have luminous batons and alarm triangle too.

Polaris editions 1965 and 1968 but finally decided that I will like the 1965 better in the long term. Close call though

...I sure could forget my love for the 1968 "commercial" version. Actually, until yesterday, I wasn't sure if I should put down the deposit on the Paris Boutique version – but money is being wired tomorrow!

First off, great watch, congrats!

Secondly, can you explain how that center portion of the dial with the arrow functions? (Probably a silly question, I know, but I am looking at it and not sure how it is set, what part of the Polaris rotate for timing, etc).  Thanks!

You use the upper crown, and the disc at the center will rotate till you're arrived at the good hour for the alarm...

thanks! i was kinda slow on that one and inner bezel rotates to time minute intervals, now i get it!
