Got myself a graduation present for finishing my undergrad.

and the strap for when I feel like a change


This one's running +10 over 7 days, I'm very happy with it.
Up to this point I've had a citizen, then a Tissot quartz.
And now I'm in the big leagues though still a far cry from the size of blommans collection or amanicos well of surprises.
I'm slowly making my way there, not bad for a 21 year old

Congratulations -- both for graduating and for getting a fantastic watch.  That is a great JLC to start with or even to end with.  Obviously you learned something in school. ;-)

I'll be graduating in May and can't decide between a reverso, mut, or the master control. What made you choose this one?

The MUT was out because of a lack of seconds, though I did like the idea of a manual wind. MGUT has the seconds, but I felt if I'm getting a 40mm might as well get the one that feels better on the wrist and that's what I did.
I wasn't sure I could pull of a reverso, maybe in a few years I will try again .

I really wanted a master control chronograph, but alas, my pockets aren't that deep :P and not many show up on the secondary market just yet. I graduated this past May and had been saving up since. Now I have other things to look forward to (a house perhaps? ).

I will definitely give her a good life.
I'm finding the fine balance between enjoying it and being too careful. I've abandoned the idea of keeping it 100% free of desk driving scuffs, but I'm still expecting to have a long time to enjoy this one in great condition.

I see you were following my search for the geomatic
In the end I chose something more fitting to me. I knew I would not be able to fully enjoy the geomatic as a daily wearer, as I would be too careful with it. I do not regret my decision, the crystal caseback is to me, as beautiful as the medallion and I can stare into it for hours.

I like your choice for a first "real watch". It has a lot of class and sophistication in a timeless classic design. Kudos for getting both strap and bracelet - I don't think many first timers would put down the extra money, but the bracelets are just so comfortable and having both is a versatile choice that will allow you to change the appearance from sporty to classy.

My first real watch was also a JLC. I bought a vintage memovox when I was just about your age

What do you have on your wish list for marking your next diploma in 1½ years time??

I don't think I will be getting another watch for some time now. But my wishlist would be: Richard Lange, Master Control Chrono, Master 8 Day, and some form of JLC memo would be great. Perhaps in that order, but it will surely have changed by the time I am ready.
Those may have to wait until a promotion if you know what I mean . But not to worry, the celebration will make it that much sweeter when it happens.

The bracelet is wonderful, I find it wears better with short sleeves than the strap does - and as you said, the ability to change at a whim adds versatility that I enjoy, as to me it is easier to do so than to have multiple watches.

I think that it only makes things worse. Has caused to go out and get a third Memovox alarm. It's a suprise and will post once I get it.

all I can say it that one of Blomman's watches will have a sister again.

I like your list. I also maintain such a wish list and it is very much alive and keeps changing. Inspiration and desire seem to come easier to me than money However, once in a while I jump on a piece and I have certainly had watches that seemed very far out of reach to me 15 years back when I got that Memovox.

This is my first post on this forum and I recently bought my first JLC -- the same watch as you -- on a bracelet.  I live in humid DC and I wanted a nice, simple watch with a bracelet for summer wear in particular.  It is a great watch and the bracelet is exceedingly comfortable. This JLC and my Zenith El Primero HW are hard to choose between!!  Anyway, congrats again!!
