To go with the theme, I put on something red and something square as well.
This was a day I was so looking forward to for a long time.

I arrived much much earlier to avoid the nightmare traffic jam.

Greeted by the friendly staff, the bad news was delivered to me.
He informs me the Reverso TT Rouge was not delivered to the boutique yet. He too was led to believe it would be delivered for the event. In fact, when I arrived, they had just opened up the delivery package.
Instead, what did they find inside the delivery box?
It was Red too.
It was the original vintage Rouge.
Am I dissappointed by the bad news? Certainly not
In fact I was so early, it wasnt put in the display case yet. I considered myself ultra lucky to be able to see the Rouge so so up close and personal.

Interesting to notice that the backplate in the vintage has a "groove" when the watch is slide out, it sort of "pop-ed up" and feels like it was eager to be flipped over, a characteristic which I found charming. Compared to the modern TT which is flat. The vintage one doesnt lie flat down,

That was all I was allowed to do in 60sec. It had to be placed in position next to its Blue brother and a sister : )
But my my my, those 60sec will be a lifetime of horological memory.
How do I feel?
In short, mesmerized
So now I guess, I am just waiting to see the TT Rouge next, eagerly as always.
A great many thanks to the awesome friendly staff at the boutique for giving me this absolutely fantastic experience. JLC rocks and that's why they remain my favorite brand, not just for their timepieces but the brand experience they deliver.

Wow, what an opportunity, Gary! Thanks for sharing your visit to the Boutique. That blue Reverso looks awesome, too.
Best,
respo
Didnt get to play with it as it was already in position in the display.
Very hard to capture with my camera and there is reflections and lights everywhere. The best picture i have of it is this.

OCT!
Would love to see the difference in red between the old and the new rouges.
cheers
PAt
great opportunity...
looking forward to seeing the Rouge in person...
We'll have a Red Night in Paris, too...
So, what about your feelings about the Vintage Red, compared to the Tribute Black?
About the volumes, i mean?
Best,
Nicolas
Tho it is considered very small by today's standard, I liked the Rouge's small classic size very much.
Thanks to my small wrist, it actually sits very nicely and I would imagine, its a watch you easily forget you are wearing. Much like my 34mm MUT.
While the TT was bigger in dimension, it is also very thin. For this the Rouge made up for volume with its thicker case.
You totally forget the size... Which is not that small, by the way... To focus on the dial.
Best,
Nicolas
clicked the insert button too fast earlier.
I think its balanced nicely between the thickness and the dimension in terms of the "wrist feel" as compared to the TT
I would imagine if the vintages came as ultra thin and in its classic dimensions, it would feel too fragile and and of a ladies reverso.
So the thicker case is nicer in this case and gives it a "macho" feel, considering its was worn by Polo sportsmen on horses, it would have to be strong and rugged.

The TT R looks much thinner, by the way, because of its bigger case.
The original has a lot of character, I find.
Thanks!
Nicolas

Once again, we have to wait patiently
This was at the Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia boutique.
Gary
Terry at the boutique had asked me to attend, but I had to be in Singapore on that day. Did they host a dinner at Shook? Think that was the initial plan.
Gorgeous pics!
Dennis
Actually I skipped the dinner so I could avoid the traffic jam getting out of town : ) was already full-filled by the vintages.
By the way, did you receive a separate JLC event invite for 3rd June? This is a bigger event with an actual polo game I think. So I suspect the Rouge could be there. I may not be able to make that tho.
gary
But i'll have to skip that one too as I'll be in Bangkok. I'm actually waiting for the Reverso Calendar to hit KL before blowing my 2012 budget on something else. Haha.
Cheers,
Dennis
