A beautiful Audemars Piguet Calatrava
In a previous thread, I mentioned my AP Nostalgia.
Her's another piece that makes me nostalgic.
Spider lugs, center seconds, needle hands, subtle Roman numerals and triangular markers: for me, every detail of this 35 mm AP Calatrava from the 1950s is exquisite.
And the caliber is a "VZASC" a variant of the renowned 13 Ligne "VZ" made from Valjoux movement blanks. If you're interested in the history of this iconic caliber, there's an excellent article on Stetz&Co.: Holding the Ligne - A Visual Evolution of the Audemars Piguet 13 Ligne "VZ".

I remember this watch
I think it sold a few years ago in MCL auction. What is interesting of these watches is that they were highly finished (even among the vzss/vzas ones with the 19/20 jewel versions) and had shock abosrbers. It seems that these were exclusively sold in the U.S market and had a "waterproof" screw-back case. I also owned one but it was a sub seconds version.

also the MCL watch did not have matchign case and movement no.s thus we know its a replacement case. here are some photos of it from the auction
