The best AP monogram ever
This is the cover of an Audemars Piguet brochure from 1971.
The AP monogram is composed of two watchmaking tools:
- a proportion compass (left)
- and a hacksaw (right) – a little saw used to openwork movement components.
Below the monogram, the French text reads: “Audemars Piguet, the most prestigious of signatures”.

But they've yet to make a proportion compass hands dial like Vacheron did ages ago 😊, therefore their own advertising elicits thoughts and desires for another brand 😁😇....
