Audemars Piguet

I have been very seriously considering the purchase of a 15300, and my initial color preference has been white. But some of today's photos on this board have shown the quite different allure of black 15300s, and one of those is available at my local AD. So if you have a preference, please vote it: white, black, or blue. Admittedly this is a frivolous poll. And I know that I shouldn't care what others like; what matters is what *I* like, etc. But I'm curious nonetheless. Thanks! - Jon

Black is my personal favourite ......... and my choice when I got one. Although I think white shows off the dial best.

And I am told the price for the blue dial is the worst amongst the 3 in the residual market.  

Blue is very nice in the flesh, if u dun mind the above sentiment.

Less formal than the silver, more distinctive than the black---which is nice, but is so "standard" for a sports watch, even one as luxurious and fine as the Royal Oak (15300 or otherwise).   I've never regretted my choice of the blue dial, and feel it offers outstanding versatility across a variety of wardrobes.

because it looks sportier than the white dial.  The white dial makes the watch look bigger due to the light color background.

I perfer the black dials, which one are you leaning towards?  IMO, the AP shade of blue on the 15300 is nice too, can't go wrong with either colors.

I would have expected more than one vote for white! I am indeed choosing between white and black (I've never seen blue in the metal, and it's not available at my AD, which is the only AP AD within a 300 mile radius of here). Black looks great in these photos, and i may prefer black to white from a foot away or more. But I think white looks slightly better on the textured dial up close. Still deciding . . . . I have a white one, it brings out the tapestry pattern much better.  Also, if you have a medium / big wrist 6.5" or above, you want a bigger watch.  AP RO is 39mm diameter, with a white dial, it looks bigger than 39mm.  See the pic.

That's an extraordinary watch; I believe I saw the long thread posted on this when you had finished with the restoration. Congratulations -- and I have no idea where you come up with these vintage gems. (Your collection alone makes me want to move to France!)

Sadly, I'm pretty sure my AD won't have anything like this in stock.

I didn't know what was the name for this color, but I'm glad someone posted it.

It is indeed sublime -- and the closest color designation I can think of for it is "dark copper," though that doesn't do it justice.   

Well, it seems I am in the minority as I prefer the white dial 15300 by a mile. I would say that though as I have one! The waffle dial is much more a feature.

I am pretty much a monochrome person. I picked a white 15300 mainly because I had too many black-dialed watches at that time.
