For me the answer is clear: the original one! While the DLC coated version has a specific deep black glow, my personal feeling is that chemical high-tech coatings should best be reserved to lower to middle range watches. That is exactly the market level where you seem this type of coatings the season after the technology's introduction.

Once the technology matured its relatively cheap to apply it in an automated fashion. But hand-work is hand-work (here: the polished case), and every watchmaker has to learn his/her trade de novo.
Just my thoughts.

Interesting... the original Sport model in your photo has the date display at '3'. Persumably (and given the date on the photo) this was a pre-production model?
