A fresh wristshot of the Chopard LUC Time Traveler One
I like this watch because it has a great value for money and a flawless execution. I have to say that I prefer simple worldimer watches (the date ring is for me useless here) but the complexity of the Chopard works pretty well. I will write an article about it... when I will be able to do it!

That's too strong an emotion.
Apart from the sheer fair pricing and striking dial colours of the steel L.U.C Traveler One, the other features make it different from the competitors.
The independent chronometer certification by C.O.S.C., date display and 60-hour power reserve are not found in other world timer watches.
I am ambivalent about a dead second feature. I had mechanical watches with dead seconds and didn't really have a use for that function except having to explain to everyone that it was NOT a quartz watch! 
I know some people don't like date displays on their watches but for a travel watch, it makes sense.
Changing your new location local time automatically coordinates the date. It's an aide memoire.

Against other recent offerings from competing brands, like Montblanc and JLC, I would not buy the Chopard. Comes across much busier than the others.

It would be interesting to compare them. They are actually very different. I love the Montblanc design but the movement is not at the same level than the other watches. The JLC doesn't share the same system but features the dead beat second hand. Each watch has its strong points and its weaknesses. Fx
The orange colour adds a sporty element to this timepiece. It is less "good" which is a great point IMHO

No doubt Chopard execution is top notch but...
aren't we all sooo tired and bored of these same watches? the countries in a circle around the dial? there's got to be a more original way to do this. It's certainly very nice! But... same as everything else, no? As the years go by and we become seasoned collectors, we can't help but notice that everyone's doing the same thing. For a great manufacture to stand apart... something great has to be designed and , well, stand apart. I agree with Michael that, even if it's going to be the same as so many others, there are others who do this same thing with finer composition and elegance. JLC in particular has made this 'same old' design seem new and even iconic.
I guess the reason that Chopard uses a date ring instead of date window is trying not to
break the balance and integrity of the dial. But I agree with you. I can also live without the date.
I would argue that the date is vital...
... especially for a World Timer - crossing the date line etc. while travelling. It is growing on me, this watch... thanks for lovely pic and I can't wait to hear more!

Beautiful Watch....
One of the nicer WTs to come out recently along with the JLC WT, but there is something very special about the Platinum version. Just takes things to the next level and the price is great.

I am increasingly a fan
Walked into a Chopard boutique in HK the other day and was also told they'd be in shops in about a month.
Now if only you could customise the cities a bit...I would replace BJ with HK, and Geneva with Paris.
But I really must see this in the metal and try it on my wrist. I have a feeling it could be VERY compelling.
