SIHH 2017: One shot of the Laureato 38mm in Pink Gold
Friends,
The last version to see is the Laureato 38mm.
Here shown in Pink gold including Pink Gold bracelet.
The Silver "Clou de Paris" really pops in contrast to the Pink Gold case, much better visibility than on the Silver/Steel version.
Now when I showed you all the new versions of the Laureato, I will start to compare them to each other.

Obviously beautiful but
how can one not instantly say, is this an RO? Is this a problem?
The bracelet and bezel are dramatically different, giving it a decidedly
sleeker feel than an RO.
If the outer shape of the bezel is the only thing....
You notice in a watch...

White gold probably but yellow or pink golds are not easy to wear IMHO. But a watch brand needs everything if it wants to satisfy all its customers. Absolutely understandable

Can't help feeling the the dial is type heavy
I would prefer to omit Laureto, if I owned it I would be well aware of the name. Steel version with grey dial is a very nice iteration.
On this 38mm I am tend to agree with you....
On the 41 or 42 - I like the fact that the Laureato is on the dial!
If removal of anything, I would opt for the "Automatic".

Agreed. 'Automatic' is no longer needed in this day and age – there once was a time, but that time was long ago.
Not every minutiae needs replicated on modern version – we can see the link to the past just fine.
And while we’re at it, that 1791 nonsense can disappear too.

I’ll have to disagree – very often, less is more, and simpler is better.
Like a good single malt whisk(e)y, you just need to let it breathe rather than mix it with anything else.
The same is the case with the Laureato – the dial has enough going on with the Clous de Paris, that it doesn’t need the superfluous adornments of “Automatic, Laureato, Girrard-Perregaux, and 1791".
They should be taking a page out of H Moser’s book – the Art of Subtle Obviousness – available from all good retailers for just €19.99.
The same is the case with the Laureato – the dial has enough going on with the Clous de Paris, that it doesn’t need the superfluous adornments of “Automatic, Laureato, Girrard-Perregaux, and 1791".

I agree fully.
Even the applied GP logo at 12 only, imagine how clean it would look stripped back, keep the details to the case back. If you have an icon the attributes that make it iconic are already there, this is a case of gilding the lily somewhat.
The dial coloured date wheel is a good move, uncharacteristically I do not prefer the blue dial here, the grey looks great.

Impressive piece in all gold
and can be considered unisex with 38mm. Is the all pink gold available with other dial colours as well? I can see this one looking also great with the grey dial.
