Hello everyone,
I’m a long-time mechanical watch enthusiast and recently had my Girard-Perregaux Richeville Chronograph (Ref. 2765, stainless steel) fully serviced by GP. Along with the service, I requested a Certificate of Authenticity, which is currently pending delivery.
What I’ve found puzzling is that my particular example features a reverse panda configuration that I haven’t seen elsewhere, either in past listings or GP catalogs. Most Richeville references I’ve encountered feature silver, cream, or white dials with minimal contrast.
The watch is in excellent condition and has both the original GP alligator strap (which I’ve kept) and a newly installed OEM GP strap from the recent service. I also have the service paperwork and a GP travel case. I’m not looking to sell at the moment — just hoping to learn more about the rarity, possible production background, and collector interest in this configuration.
Could this have been part of a limited regional run or boutique variation? Is anyone aware of similar examples or production details? Any insight would be much appreciated.
Thank you in advance — I’ve learned a lot from reading the posts here and would love to contribute once I know more about this watch’s story.
Regards,
Joel (Rio Rancho, NM)
