I've gotten very helpful advice on this forum in the past, so came here again for more. I want to get my husband a Seamaster for his birthday and am trying to decide between the Planet Ocean (42mm) and the 300m (36.25mm). I know that larger watches are more in style these days but he has a smaller wrist. His dress watches are both on the small size--Calatrava (33mm) and Breguet (34mm) and in my opinion they both look just right on him. I went to see the Seamasters in person and still can't decide between the two sizes. 42mm seems very large...but is 36.25 too small for a sport watch (stainless steel band)? Any advice is greatly appreciated. I did see some photos on this site of larger Seamasters on mens' wrists, but none of the smaller version.
Thanks in advance for any help!
Thea
Can you notice a difference between a 41mm and 42 (300m vs. Planet Ocean)? On the Omega website there is a photo of George Cloony wearing the large Planet Ocean--and to me the watch looks huge. I think my husband has a small wrist; he's not a big guy. Should a sport watch be larger than a dress watch--to me his smaller size dress watches are perfectly in proportion to his size.
Mine measures about 6.75" and I could get away with 45mm PO so if his wrist is about the same size as me, I would say go for the PO.
