We all need a Mentor and to think mine is Art. Am I in trouble ;-)

Once again Dr.No to the rescue. I finally got to the point of wearing my glasses so now I can enjoy to real Speedmaster. Not to mention that at my age it's a real pleasure to "wind my watch" every morning. My understanding is that this is an honest, unpolished original example including the correct replacement bezel to replace the scratched original. It was further offered with full diclosure regarding the "ding" in the top pusher. However the watch functions properly. Although the bracelet is not original to the watch, it's an original 1171 w/ 633 end-clips. All in all, I found the seller to be very open. However we know: "Only time will tell"! I also understand that the great condition of the bezel plus the Dot over 90 is a plus. However the seller indicated that the bezel was somewhat faded blue do to a condition that existed with Omega at the time of manufacture. Comments or anything you can add or subtract, please do. Thanx for your "time", Miki
The early 861 speedmasters had this bezel style (dot over 90). The way the bezel ages to me does not add value to the watch - I would prefer the bezel condition to be as close to factory fresh as possible.
typical of an 861 calibre of this period. nice piece. you could try it on a brown leather strap if you dont want to wear the non original bracelet. they always look good on leather.
First of all thank you for your very considered opinion regarding the bezel.
For the time being I'll wear it on my Hirsch Leonardo Areo Black Sharkskin. Love the fitted look! However most seem to say that brown is what looks best on these. I've seen some variations with unique stitching that appeal to me. That being said: All are welcome to offer their favorites, especially if they include a scan. After-all, seeing is believing.
