Florian Schneider from KRAFTWERK has died - RIP
One of my big musical idols has passed. Florian was a founding member of KRAFTWERK and passed about a week ago of cancer, 73 years old. News was released only today.
Personally, I am quite saddened by this news. Their music and artwork has has been a passion and inspiration for me since I was a teenager.
KRAFTWERK had a huge and fundamental influence on electronic music as well as early HIPHOP and the band where a genuine musical avant garde in the 70´ties music scene.
I was so lucky to see the band in concert 4 times. Each time a memorable act that would stand out with exceptional staging and performance, leaving an impression on the senses, long after the concerts.
Thank you for the music! Rest in peace, Florian Schneider-Esbelen.

Brian Eno and David Bowie
Yes, they were discovering the Krautrock at the German experimental music scene.
Brian like minimal music, so he took it too all the musicians which he produced albums with, for example Cold play and U2.
Brian is the best producer.
Other greats are Quincy Jones and Daniel Lanois.
Robert Fripp and Tony Visconti are also big.

Being another kid of the 70s, grew up listening to them on radio a lot, radioactivity and the model come to mind but I was never able to see them live!

It’s both difficult to access and easy, as they had such a talent for writing a pop refrain...
But their style, of course was so special. I admit one has to be in the mood. I had a long drive this morning and listened to “trans Europe a Express”. It is still a master piece 😊
