I ended up with a Sinn EZM3
for high altitude climbing because of its cold-related features. It has a few modifications besides the usual cold-temperature oils; a copper-sulphate capsule and argon gas injected into the case. These are intended to displace/absorb moisture, which can be disastrous to a watch in ultra cold situations. Being a reasonable size, it didn't interfere with clothing, but a titanium case would have been better still.

We got down to +42 F in parts of San Diego county last week. You would have thought it was the end of world by listening to the weather forecasters. Some people even put on long pants and wore shoes instead of sandals.
Yeah, seen it
our one holiday to Disneyland with the kids was in February. The weather was like early fall at home so we wandered around in shorts and T-shirts while the natives wore their puffy coats! No crowds, though, so I went on Space Mountain five times in a row.

I'm in Toronto with barely anything and -5 or something. I think I'm the only one who would like -42 year round with snow. I can take the cold but not the heat. Everytime I go to Singapore to visit family the heat nearly kills me. Great food though.
survived the polar vortex in our camper
on a mad whim we went to Lake Louise with our camper for some skiing and snowshoe hikes. Temps -35 to -38 overnight for a week. Had the entire campground to ourselves for a couple of nights but as the weekend approached a few other hardy souls showed up.
Full disclosure, we had shore power and were parked next to a heated shower building, so we weren't off-grid. Not sure I'm ready for that yet!

This week i was outside just wearing a pull at minus 10 C ... after about 5 minutes i called it a day.
Even the dog prefers to stay inside 😁.
With the correct clothes it’s actually no problem ... but minus 40 ? No waay i can survive that.
