I went for a walk alone today as my wife had gone to a luncheon, and as I am inclined to do ... I got distracted and spent most of the time peering into hedges and inspecting spider webs.



This web is not tangled at all, but quite geometric.



As is this one, located 50 yards away. It can't have been the same spider ... perhaps the same species? Or members of the same club?

I honestly thought that spiders only make those beautiful, radial webs (except for ground spiders, etc).  I’m fascinated by these seemingly random, tangled webs; or those first broken-looking webs.  They aren’t as “pretty” as the radial webs, but they look impossible to evade or escape.  I’ve got a new subject to read up on.
