I use to be taken to school in one every morning when I lived in Jakarta , Indonesia as a kid never would have believed I see one on the road here in the US.

I was sitting in traffic and couldn't resist taking a pic, especially since it had plates.  We get to see some interesting vehicles on the streets of L.A.!

i'm not sure i'd want to be sitting at exhaust level and being cycled around. its good for the environment, but not for the rider or passenger.

They had college looking students on these pedal powered rickshaws in San Diego near the GasLamp district.  They were really aggressive in traffic (IMO not a good idea to battle it out with cars that will crush you) and were nagging tourists to hire them.

each next to the driver, then the center row face to face each 3 so it is 6, then at the back where there is no cover can sit another 3, so total 12.

this is no kidding, during my visit there a few attempt try to take picture but failed

Looks like a Tuk Tuk that I've seen before in Thailand.

When I was in Thailand, the hotel staff advised me to not use any Tuk Tuks out of fear of being cheated. 

But I still wished I could get an experience in one...

...when puttering around the inner-city with 2 other mates in the tray of an unregistered (and woefully in need of some attention) Lambro....ahem...

In Bangkok always is rush hour. You breath all that delicious polution, sweat a lot and it's not the most comfortable way for a ride, but it was fun.
