After taking the poll, please feel free to elaborate in a response to this post.  I'm very curious to read your answers.  I currently read/write posts using my laptop.  Occasionally, I read the site on my Android phone (HTC Evo 4G), but RARELY type responses from it.  I just ordered the new iPad that was announced this week, and will be curious to see if lots of you use tablets.  I appreciate all your thoughts on this matter!  Thanks in advance for participating in my poll!

Thinking of buying Ipad3. 

...would you say that you mostly (only) read content, or do you also write/respond to posts on it?    This new iPad constitutes my first foray into the Apple world since my 2nd generation iPod Nano purchase!

...seemed to relish using his these last two times he visited the US.  I plan to use Facetime or group Skype at my Labrador club meetings where I am on the Board and we have remote attendees.

From my Iphone 4S to her Ipad2. She uses a Blackberry.

My cousin in Thailand swears by her iPad and uses it to talk with her parents here in the US.

I do the majority of PPro with a laptop.  I tried the tablet route but it's just too limited for what I need to do.  Even with the traveling I do, a tablet is just extra weight so I only take the laptop as it will do everything I need.  If all you do is browse the 'net and check emails/fb,twitter then a tab is fine.

IMO I think the best solution will be the upcoming ultra thin laptops that I saw at CES:  timeout.watchprosite.com 0

...has to support my desire to play Diablo III.  I have been looking at Dell's Alienware series of laptops.  I am also considering buying just a CPU and hooking it up to my 50" HDTV and adding wireless keyboard and mouse.  There's soooo much out there!  It's a little overwhelming for someone like me.

Yes, lots of toys out there but the way things are, it's easier to integrate the different electronics.   Smart tv's, home theater receivers with built in airplay, Intel WiDi, etc makes things convenient.  From what I saw at CES it seems that large touchscreen and glasses free 3D are going to be a lot more common.  Isn't technology wonderful?

I do most of my PuristS surfing on my Alienware laptop that I use for work, even though I have a desktop and an iPad at home.

My Alienware M17x R3 works great on the D3 beta. Also the laptop also has a HDMI out which you can use to hook up to your TV. It would be awesome to have a PuristS group in D3, whenever it actually gets released.

I am considering the MX14.  I've not heard of any other PuristS who are into Diablo.    I think there are some Madden and Call of Duty fans.  For such a boy-centric site, there is not as much discussion about videogames as you would think -- not that I've noticed, at least! 

I am already thinking about what warrior class to play in D3.  I will miss my Druid from D2 though.  If only Blizzard would hurry up and announce the release date.

It has been iPad since the last 3 months when Santa bought me the toy! Ming is correct that it is a bit more limited but I think the website can also be a little more tablet friendly too. For eg., it should be easier to post pics taken on the iPad.

Maybe if there is a large number of users who primarily use iPad for posting, the powers that be could look into whether or not there would be a way to post photos directly from the tablet (like hitting a "share" to PPro button).

Writing this response using an iPad 1. No motivation to upgrade, so far.

Sometimes on my Galaxy II (Much better than any iPhone, IMHO), at work on a desktop Win XP (sub zero motivation to upgrade).

Photo posting on a MacBook Pro (my bigger machine with 8gb of memory).

I have the iPad3 coming as well. Can't wait to see the Basel watches in high definition.

My browsing and text responses are usually from iPad, as I grab web time when I am on the move, or bored at meetings! But I haven't been successful at using the image gallery and emailing images in, so all the serious posts are done on iMac, PC or MacBook Pro (if my wife lets me); But the Pro needs built in 3G/4G. So with the new iPhoto for the iPad3, I hope we can get it all to work seamlessly with PPro, as it will make interactions much more spontaneous.

when i've stayed at Filip's i've used his ipad and it works very well to view this site. i've just jumped into the smartphone world and its on there ready to read, but doubt i'll post anything from it.

i use a laptop as thats all i have. if i had a desk top i'd use that.

At home and for working from home: Laptop; at the office: desktop PC, 2 flat-screen monitors; communication: cell phone, nothing fancy (I don't have a smartphone or iPhone); future additions (and it would be mainly for work applications): iPad or similar.  Enjoy!  HAGWE....  =8^{D>

I like the idea of a mobile working tool which also allow a comfortable reading.

So, my Labtop is 17 inches big, not too big, not small. Pcs are showing nicely on such a screen, and honestly, I hate Iphones.

I have several cell phones, one for the cocktails ( Nokia Sirocco ) and one for the work ( Sony Erikson ), but I never go, or almost on my mails from my Cell Phone, nor I use the camera on them.

Hence, my favourite access to my virtual home is from my Labtops.

Not a lot of emailing from your smartphone, huh?  I like the idea of laptops also.  I just need to find the perfect one that will let me do my PuristS stuff and play my videogame.

I am still the kind of guy who has to type three times on the same touch to select the C letter... So emailing from my phone is just a pain in the ... finger.

And to say all, I spend so much time on my computer that I don't feel the need to spend some exta moments on my cell phone.

Logical, no?
