but in the mean time i will feed the panerai hunger in small increments lol! hope all is well my friend.

Too me the primary differences between the two are:
1) Polished (shiny look) for the logo vs titanium (muted look) for the 177. Which do you prefer? Most Panerai's are polished.
2) The weight of the watches is a big difference. The titanium is much lighter; I actually like the luminor's in lighter versions(GMT's and automatics add weight), but many people associate the heavier weight of a watch with better quality and feel, and hence they feel they got a better bang for their buck!
3) Obviously the Logo...which I personally love to see on a luminor case.
Try both on at the same time...If you can't find one or the other, you should still be able to compare from similiar luminors in the store for looks and weight.
best,

is the caseback. the 177 is display and the 005 is not. i have had a 000 and a 25, the 25 didnt seem that much lighter than the zero but maybe that was because it was a sub? i have also had a 183, 243, and an 88. the 88gmt which alot of people really like was my least favorite of the bunch.
Is there a big difference in the weight of a ti luminor and a steel luminor because as i said i really coudnt tell to much of a difference between the 25 and the rest of the bunch except ofcourse for the 243 which is a beast of a watch.
Kind Regards,
John
I had a Pam 176, and compared to my Pam 228 or Pam 88 (GMT,steel, auto) it's a huge difference in weight.
I'm afraid I can't answer the exact difference in weight from a non-gmt or non- auto Pam, but I'm sure someone here will.
Good luck hunting,

logo and material, what do you prefer? Logo means a lot to me when I first bought Panerai, so I started with the 005 and I'm so happy to have it on my wrist...until I finally found that my preference tends toward the 'BASE'-2 hands..so, I s tarted to move to my desire.
Titanium is light and hard to scratch but I prefer feel my wrist a bit 'weight' with Panerai.
However, you will not be regreat of picking either of those.
Cheers
