Do you happen to know why they did an engraving of the Brooklyn bridge?
As this is not a LE for NYC of sorts, why did they choose this image? Is it to commemorate something?

I'm not sure why but my guess is
this piece is for the recent opening of the NY Boutique but looks like it will not only be sold through there. Remember, this is just only a guess!

To the uninitiated? ALL PAMS look the SAME!!! One after the other, the same, same, same!!!

Although I agree on this " new " Pam, I can't share your point of view.
There are some differences of cases, dials, movements, complications, etc.
But if you have this feeling, it may be explained by the fact that, to me, Panerai abuses in the develoment of some models.
This " new " 318 is an example which pleads for your feeling.

2 things I would like to know... Movement Ref & Embedded image?
1. It would be interesting to know the details of that OPXXIX Movement.
2. In the images you show, the embedded images under the specifications is an 8 days movement... could it be... or it is not Xmax time yet... LOL

soley cause of the estimated retail price is only 2,900 Euros. I would assume price would be much higher if movement were a P.200x.
