Panerai PAM 372, 557 or 587?

Three strong offers from these 4 last years. Three 47 mm, two different cases.

Which one do you prefer?

PAM 372:

 

PAM 557:

 

PAM 587:

 

I would say PAM 587 first, for its no crownguard case.

Then 372, and 557.

The epitome of what a Panerai Watch is, which is good as you can't go wrong with any of these.

But one thing I never liked about the Panerai 1950's is the "REG. T.M." stamp on the crown guard.

I really wish Panerai would either get rid of it OR stamp the "REG. T.M." on the underneath of the crown guard, so we don't have to see it.

This is why the Historic 44mm Luminors always look more clean in my eyes because they don't have this REG. T.M. stamp.  I'll create a new thread to see if you guys feel the same way as I do.

In December I had both the 372 and the 587 in front of me, and I must say that the 587 made the 372 look contrived with its short stubby hands and big lettering.

But I walked out with something totally different... perhaps I'll make a post about that wink

So between these three it's the 587 and I sincerely regret not picking it up!

without a doubt in my mind. The "transitional" cases 6152-6154 (small egyptian) are unbeatable. The impeccable Panerai DNA, underlined by the vintage hands,
compared to the stunted/truncated ones of the 372-557, and the Marina Militare on the dial, make it a truly modern Panerai icon. IMHO obviously smile

I actually prefer the "truncated" hands and the crown guard. Take that with a grain of salt as I have yet to own a Panerai. If I had the wrist for it, I'd get this in a heart beat.

over 587 for me. 

 

I actualy turned down a 587 and still have some regrets.  Will only get 587 if I trade in my 372 for a 'Fiddy' or Pre-V piece.  I agreed with you about the crown guard resonating Panerai's DNA. 

 

By the way, can you tell me which three Panerais' that you'd let go? 

 

Whatever decision you make Nico, I'm sure you will be very happy with it!

I've been burglarized and lost my Logo Pre V, Mare Pre V and PAM 249... Hence my psychological " reticence "...

But since the unveil of the 372, I am tempted again...

Does the 587 have a sapphire crystal?  Because the 372's lack of a sapphire crystal would bother me.  

But after trying to be a 47MM fan, I realize that I don't lift enough weights and the 44mm model works better for my wrist.  It's not the historical size, but it's the best one for me.  So my favorite 44mm that's in production now is probably the 590.  Which is awesome because it has a sapphire crystal!
