I agree with you and have already changed back to the original strap....
I have in mind a deep red (bordering on burgundy) in calf leather and used the red one, for a couple of days, to figure out if red (of any hue) had something to do with this model..
Burgundy would be interesting, but a rough calf, tan, could do it as well. [nt]

I'll meet with an Italian strap maker....
in a couple of weeks and we'll figure something out. I'll bring a Pre-V buckle with me and have it sewn-in...
I went to a leathers/hides...
distributor, today, together with the strap maker. If what we "visualized" will come out...exactely...the way we did, I'll have a strap that will stop clocks in the streets...hahaha

for me, there are models that I have bought out of "fatal attraction", others because of "collection". I have a couple that I like ZERO but make sense together with the other ones. This one, I happen to like and it's a fabulous collection piece IMO obviously

long....LONG....L O N G....time Tell you what, when I saw the picture, on the brochure, I was pretty..non committal. When I saw the fine engravings and strapped it on my wrist (during the SIHH, earlier this year) I told myself I HAD to get one. I'm perfectly aware of the shortcomings this piece has for being a Panerai, but as a manufact, it's pretty impressive. That and the "unicity" of the pieces since each of them is..hand-engraved I would not raccomend it to other Paneristi and wouldn't expect any "endorsement" from a grass-root Panerista (the other half of me, for example...hahahaha). Outside Panerai, I'm doing better than....great. Doing any better, without ending up behind...bars...it's impossible, I think!!! Nice reading you again

I've been busy with work and family life lately.. And only the past couple of days I had some free time to browse and made some posts here
Well this definitely not for everyone, even not for every paneristi... But... I would love to see this piece in metal as I'm sure the execution by Panerai is really good !

The first "after market" it's a bit brighter than I had in mind (the second one it's a bit more..spot on..) but the chamois's texture it's not bad

I still like it but, due to the weird dial, red it's not the...definitive...colour for the 604 strap. I'm ready to try another experiment. Last night, at a Panerai's Florence "bash", lots of people liked the red strap, but a lot also thought it is a bit..off-colour I should have a new one in a couple of month...dark mustard or caramel (crocodile)...One thing though, they ALL liked the watch..hahahahahaha

The important thing is that the watch stands out.
