which one would you go for? I really like this type of dial. The platina is the coolest (look wise), but the old skool yellow gold certainly has got something bright going. Especially with that white dial!
Platina probably draws a little less (bad) attention due to the metal colour. But then again: it's a Rolex. And a Rolex is never under the radar is it?
The fun thing about the yellow gold is that for one: yellow gold suits me quite well and it is on a comeback! At least that is what I think. For two: put a nice brown leather strap on it and you have an entirely different watch. Reason number 3 for choosing it: I don't have to let one of my other watches go for aquiring it. If I would choose the Platina I would have to sacrifice a watch and I'm very reluctant doing so. Besides that I find the price tag for the Platina a bit to high for what you are getting for it in return. Another option is going for a white gold one, wait a little bit for the blue dial to come on the market and put that in.
I'm going in for another test drive tomorrow. God knows what will happen.

... and I suggest you should decide yourself which one you like most, in spite of thirds personal "gustos".
In my case I own a vintage Day Date in traditional yellow gold and white dial, but given the choice between the two examples you are showing my personal choice would be the platinum one.
In any case I wish you will be enjoying it so much and in good health! Very cordially, Abel.
You could have spoken freely before as I appreciate directness. And regarding the YG....it was a very though decision because I really like that dial/bezel combination. Wish I could have them both. But most of the time it is best going with the initial emotion and it was ❤️ at first sight with the Ice Blue & Platinum combo. And the second reason for me was that I can wear the Platinum way more often than the YG due to the metal colour. And I really dislike safe-queens so that's how the choose has been made.
