The 114300. Just some pics borrowed from the net. Since I already have some other colorful dials, I’m keen on the white and black variants. Proportions seem right at 39 x 11 mm as well. Owned an Explorer I with similar case dimensions in the past, but haven’t tried on the 114300 yet. And the bonus is no date / cyclops! Any owners or admirers care to share their experience with this beauty?

Astute and detail oriented, as usual, good point. The Explorer I does indeed have a conical bezel, where this model is curved. And I can see how that makes this one wear slightly smaller than the E I. All the more reason to try one on soon 😎 Have a great weekend my friend!
I have this watch — and it is an understated gem — I often wear it on travel overseas — and it is discontinued in the Rolex catalogue after a short run.

Here is mine — I am wearing it this week in Portugal — this is an older photo.
The sentiment toward the white dial version is absolute love of a possibly perfect white dialed Rolex.

The size, purity, versatility, and short production puts this on a pedestal, which I understand. I hadn’t noticed the black dial version before, but it has the same impressive qualities😍. My issue with the other colored dials, despite loving purple, is extra things like the lume dots, for example.
I have the 39 mm Explorer and looking for a white dial watch. The114300 in white fits the bill perfectly. Elegant, sporty, classy, simple and understated - just how I like my watches. And I´ve seen it on rubber straps and suede straps looking good too. Happy hunting. Enjoy!
But I found not reaching for it very often at all. Eventually I let it go to a friend who has much more wrist time than I do. I think it really depends on your variety. There is no denying its simplistic appeal.
