Another camera option for you would be a Sony TX series waterproof pocket camera. Smaller than a phone with a Zeiss optical zoom which is better than cropping a small sensor. Close
focus is very good which makes a TX also good for all types of watch imaging. Not just a "point and shoot" because they have a lot of control options. My favorite of the ones I've owned is the DSC-TX30, here's a couple of pics of my Bathy in Tahoe. One is an underwater shot. Suitable for snorkeling but not for deep diving. A great all around pocket camera, it's Zeiss optical zoom often allows it to take a better picture than a phone can. This particular model even has a second flash surrounding the lens (a "ring flash") for more even illumination of very close up subjects.
