Fortunately, there are those who do not follow marketing

Unfortunately The White Dial is a bad copy of the discontinued. The serious thing is that I'm not the only one who thinks so. In fact, on the gray market, the rare discontinued pieces, full stickers full set, cost much more than the new models, much more.
let's put aside the APH versions and other 'specials' . I think there is a wide consensus that the updated version is superior aesthetically due to thinner sub dials, successful steel ring to the bezel etc the only downside I can see is the case profile that seems more blunt
APH is an invention of resellers, which only newcomers, including you, believed in. The new models Daytona have been modified excellently: case, ring, new caliber, ok everything perfect, but unfortunately the dials were not liked, in fact , most of us collectors prefer discontinued models.
Big congrats on your new arrival. By coincidence I´m wearing mine along this week and weekend. I liked more the new version 126500 specially for its thinner ceramic bezel with steel surround.

I wish you´ll enjoy it so much and you feel that the long wait was well worth it. Best cordial regards, Abel
I have to say that 8 years is nuts. My graduate degree(s) didn't even take that long and I thought those were a long wait. You have far more patience than I; that's rather admirable.
