Nice sub! I think it’s more about whether one has some surplus funds that they would like to diversify into a nice gold watch which they will enjoy owning and wearing. Weight is not an issue here IMHO. Good luck on your decision.
favorite Rolex by far and I own a few. I sold mine to a friend a few years back knowing I would replace it and did so within a week. I’ll never not have it. It’s the definition of a keeper for sure. You’ll never regret it. The weight feels great! Just change wrists every so often so you don’t get a Popeye arm on one side!
Oddly under the radar while also being over the top. Might be my favorite Rolex. Weight is only a problem for me if you can't get a perfect fit which is rarely an issue with modern Submariners.

I recently acquired the Cookie Monster, and I love it on the wrist. I personally prefer the black dial - blue bezel contrast, but this is all very personal of course. The Smurf is more of an established classic.
