Nice sub! I think it’s more about whether one has some surplus funds that they would like to diversify into a nice gold watch which they will enjoy owning and wearing. Weight is not an issue here IMHO. Good luck on your decision.
Don’t think twice about it. It’s my
favorite Rolex by far and I own a few. I sold mine to a friend a few years back knowing I would replace it and did so within a week. I’ll
never not have it. It’s the definition of a keeper for sure. You’ll never regret it. The weight feels great! Just change wrists every so often so you don’t get a Popeye arm on one side!

Oddly under the radar while also being over the top. Might be my favorite Rolex. Weight is only a problem for me if you can't get a perfect fit which is rarely an issue with modern Submariners.
Weight is indeed not an issue, but if I may suggest an alternative ...
I recently acquired the Cookie Monster, and I love it on the wrist. I personally prefer the black dial - blue bezel contrast, but this is all very personal of course. The Smurf is more of an established classic.
Either way, you cannot go wrong.
