Now many people are storing them and making sure they are in pristine condition. So the scarcity driving older Rolex is just not there and will not be.
While they could still appreciate, it’s far less certain and unless you really find odd then I would not make that a consideration.

Please note that both models have the old (1988-ca
2020)movement. The Steel-gold version is easy available, so i personally would go with the modern movement.
The black gold is quite special in the sense that it really is not everybodys choice. The blue gold is much less "rough" in its contrast.
So you should really like this model, because you wont be able to sell it as easy as most modern Rolex.

For "best" and "investment" ...while I don't agree with the latter purpose, I'd just go with the standard SS black dial ceramic bezel Submariner date (or the non-Date).
Which one do you like the most? Which one would you love to wear?
For me, those are the only right questions. And follow what others think or say. It's your life and your wrist.
Forget about investing when it comes to watches. Firstly, things turn out differently, and secondly, not as you expect. 😁

In terms of "joy of life“ things look quite different. For economic investments, stocks and investments in other areas are certainly better suited than watches!

Why are you referencing best for 2025 with models discontinued years ago. Something is off/odd
