Where to begin....only one place, the new Explorer 2 Freccione! (prob spelt that wrong
)
It is...................................................................BLOODY AWESOME!!!!!!!!!
seriously, I loved it , I want it, even if it is ludicrously overpriced (anyone here got a non EEC passport??)
They nailed it with this one, for those worrying about 42mm, don't, the way the case is with the tappered lugs, you can tell. I'll have one in white, no black, no white... this is going to be the only problem. I think white is better value for money, as you get more super luminova (chroma whatever Rolex call it...)..

The Exp 2 has a new 3187 movement, with paracrom shock absorber as well as the parachrome blue.
For those who wish to speculate, I guess this makes the previous model with 3186 and Rolex inner bezel a transitional model.....
go get 'em boys.. LOLOLOLOLOLOL
Ok, I don't want this to sound like a Rolex eulogy, but those Daytona.... I hate to say it, they looked bloody good too.
That black bezel was gorgeous. I asked if it cracked easily if dropped on to concrete, but the Rolex guy would not let me try.... so I don't know
as for steel...yes probably, Rolex have a 3 year strategy which we have seen already. However in my opinion, next year we will probably get all gold on bracelet with this bezel before we sea sg version then steel after that. For once they were not too shy in almost saying this is the case. As for a new Paul newman, I dont see that happening, maybe a a steel version of this new model with Panda dial...who knows I'm just speculating.

Then the YM2,. uhmmm............ mmmmmmmmmhhhhhhhhhh... oh well

its a brilliant movement..... and the chap from Rolex was wearing the WG version... "lovely watch mate"
)
I think make it in steel, black ceramic bezel, black dial, and maybe we buy it, till then, get the duster out ;(
Then the Tudors!
The advisor....does not do anything for me, terrific technically though, for me kind of like Rolex's YM2, technically brilliant, just ...I'll move on...
To one I did like, the Gran Tour, the nearest were gonna get to a PN

I would say overall, a fairly quiet year, but i believe, next year..we may just be surprised,
Best,
Imran
Effectively, I am in love with the new Explorer II, the problem is do I get the balck or the white one??? I am leaning towards the whitre one because I don't have any white dial Rolex's.
Best regards,
George
why the fatter minute and hour hands, and does the mercedes hand appear bigger to balance the now larger 42mm case, thus has to balance the appearance of the markers on the dial? hmmmm, i dont know with this one. anyways, glad u love it! for me, i will be happy with the now outgoing Exp II, the 16570...So long!
The only one I want to see in the flesh is the Explo II... The others are way too far from my conception of a Rolex watch, or at least from my tastes...
But the Explo II is something to be seen in the flesh.
I'm a bit dubitative due to the association of the Freccione and the maxi dial, which sounds a bit iconoclastic for me, but in the real, it may be different.
The volumes, too, and this bloody difference between the narrow bracelet and the testosteroned case.
As you know, I am a big fan of the Rolex Explorers, and I will let it a chance... Would like to do the Duo, the Vintage, and the modern.
If and only if the Modern convinces me...
Best,
Nicolas.
It would be great to see a comparison pic against the new version to see the differences/similarities.
Yours Nico,
Andy.
as usual, there is nothing for me in the new models but I'm sure some people will like the new stuff.
Cheers
Jeff
was 44mm. i'd be all over it.
just like every year. nothing really NEW from Rolex
thanks for posting
I really need to see that Exp2 in the metal. It's looking good right now!
One question Imran, can you explain why the white dial has more lum? Does the entire white dial stay luminated in the dark?
Hi, Imran,
It is indeed very refreshing and gratifying to read a positive opinion on the new Explo II. I sure hope you will be able to decide which out of the two models to choose from, and then get it.
My concern is, didn't you feel that the watch has a lot going on? Maxi dial, thick hands, Freccione, is it all too much? Or in reality it all blends perfectly?
I will definitely keep an eye out for seeing it in the flesh sometime soon.
All the best,
Alex
