Thanks guys. I wore it today and I must say it exceeds my expectations. In 2010, an AD called to offer me the SS Daytona. I had 3 watches at the time. I wanted a Panerai. i was not a big Rolex fan as I always wanted to avoid the crowd rather than the trend (which applies to Panerai). I have never been a VIP or anything like that. I went to have a look with a friend who happens to be closer to the AD than me. She is a pretty girl. I simply enquired and the answer in another shop was no but they would call me. I tried on the gold one and it felt and looked good. (never one to pay up for precious metal as I work in a mining company and know the prices of precious metals like diamond and gold were simply hype). She called the first shop for me and they had one and agreed to sell to me. Picked it up yesterday. After wearing it for a couple of hours this morning I must say I have changed my view totally. This is a great watch. It is classic and sporty. I can wear the watch everyday and even while working on the computer (which is hard when wearing a Panerai, so heavy).

I am very happy. Please share your Daytona stories with me. I love to know more.

I plan to get SS Daytona, too. I am still not decided about the dial colour. The white one is very legible and the black one is more elegant. It is said that black dial Daytonas are more difficult to reach. Is that true?

Basically a home run. If you're lucky you won't get infected with the dreaded vintage Rolex disease.
