SBGR097 - 55th Anniversary is not too bad......
I thought 42mm was too big and "what the f*%!?" But after long thought and the fact that it is the anniversary model, I decided to go for it, with in mind that the bracelet wouldn't go well with this but the leather strap of the same color as the dial.
I like this combo and although it may be still a bit big, leather strap and this one goes quite well. So much so that my colleague who sits next to me who is really a big watch collector found it attractive enough to add to his collection - this is a major statement. I wonder why SEIKO people do not get a bit more creative. See what you think.....
Movement finish is getting better and better (I know it is still by machine, but still looks better than before).

Some watches just feel as if they are chiseled out of a solid block of steel. Some feel flimsy in comparison, while there are watches that simply feel boat anchor heavy, without the solidity. Thanks also for the impressions on The Citizen - if GS are rare...

If we take 1 Cazalea as the unit of measurement of Seiko-dom, are we talking 0,1 Cazaleas, 0,2 or something closer to one? In the latter case there may be only two or three people they would listen to

This model comes only with bracelet. The leather strap is after market and I changed it. And there are really handful of them left, if any, in Japan already. If you can grab in your region, I recommend you do it.... Ken
FYI, the lug size is odd 21mm and there is no Grand Seiko strap that fits....
... so you must go after market or custom made strap shop.... (I went for calf press-patterned cheapy version ) We should play with the strap for bracelet only models so that it stimulates Seiko design team's brain? hahaha. Ken
