Been a while since I posted the Seiko Izul SDAA001, so here we go again. Changed it to a more summery white toad strap, now it’s only the weather that needs to change 😁🤞🏻

It’s a lugless design for a start, in titanium and with a curved case back, so it wears drastically smaller than many watches that are much smaller in real life.
And the ability to rotate the case for using the chrono or just choose your optimal angle is a real bonus 😊👍🏻

But the lug to lug (if you can call it that ) helps make it manageable

You are probably more likely to see a SpaceWalk either live or on the internet than this one 😊

Definitely quite a thing when it came out some 16 years ago. But so jam packed with features, too 😊👍🏻

The Izul series was launched in 2008 I believe. It consisted of four models, two with a rotating case and two smaller ones with a fixed case (permanent bullhead configuration there). In each case configuration there was a white and black dial version.
If I recall correctly this was the first use of the Spring Drive chronograph and these are the only applications, where it’s not paired with a GMT hand.
At any rate they were sold in Japan and Paris only and went out of sales in 2009 I believe.
The watch is titanium and mine has a case that rotates through 360 degrees, with four preset positions but the option of using any angle you want. As you see from the shot, the watch also changes the angle on the wrist depending on how you rotate it. If you intend to use it as a chronograph, you turn it into a bullhead position and it also tilts a bit up from the wrist for easier use. For normal telling time it’s a reverse bullhead and the case lies flat on the wrist. Having a curved case back and no lugs helps mask the size somewhat.
