My second Grand Seiko was the grail piece I badly wanted since I first saw it on WPS sometime in 2014. It took me till late 2015 IIRC (so over 10 years ago) to finally find one - the series was produced in 300 pieces and few came to Europe. In hindsight a hint of a year feels laughably short but back then it was the longest I have had π
I have written about it many a time here so no need to repeat this - it remains a watch that continues sparking joy every time itβs worn. Itβs in many ways a GADA watch - on a somber black strap it can be used formally and on a NATO at the pool (unlike what Emmanuel Oates the other day this still has a 100m WR rating even without a screw down crown).
And itβs the first modern steel Special GS, with a more finely regulated meeting, a unique dial and the lion medallion on the rotor.
I believe one or two others here have one but itβs certainly not the most common GS.
In case you have one, whatβs your favorite GS?
