Today I am wearing my Octa Lune to commemorate the new release this week. In 2015 I had a chance to purchase a NOS brass Octa RDM from the FPJ boutique and I regrettably passed on the opportunity. Needless to say I was excited to see the release and submitted an application. Not expecting anything to happen but figured I may as well try!

I was expecting that this would be this Friday’s watch !
I’m sure the Boutiques were inundated with requests for the new piece.
I am curious to see the dial, but it will never have the charm of the originals like yours.
I saw the new dial in a zoom meeting on Wednesday
I have to say it is incredibly nice and much better than I expected. Comparable the very first dials and with a very soft yellow tone. It will oxidize because it is unvarnished. It will be interesting to see down the line.
Thank you for your nice compliment on mine. I feel mine is really precious and special to me. It’s incredible how different it can appear depending on the light. A little fun detail is that I’ve was originally built by FP personally. Not that it makes a big difference but still fun.
Great to pull out your CB. I got the same grey strap recently. It’s a super match. That might be next in my rotation.

Next to the watch is a little decorative plate made by Ando Cloisonné a Japanese company that’s been around since the late 1800s.
Interestingly they produced the enamel dials for Seiko’s enamel Presage models a few years ago.

Valley of Fire state park in Nevada about hour drive from Vegas.. probably not the safest place to take this kind of watch due to the hiking and rocks but what the hell they were made to be worn!!
