I traded the 38mm Octa Reserve Auto (practicality of its date function initially), for a new 40mm Chronometre Sourverain :
- for the sheer simplicity & beauty of design;
- its manual-wind;
- its exquisite & beautiful movement;
- its slimness;
- its more balanced look;
- "upgraded" to 40mm bec "i just cant get enough of a good thing";
- but most of all, because i loved the CS first.

Next up, my other FP Journe's favourite, the Calendrier, to complete my obsession.
Personally, I like the 40mm case better, as it makes for a more proportionate look. Simplicity at its best, till the case back is revealed that is. Although, I do find the 38mm sitting on the wrist better.
Congrats again and In good health !
Btw, looks like the lion city in the back ground.
The CS is imo a very beautiful watch and one that I would also like to own.
I agree with your decision on the 40mm.
You won't be sorry when you go for a Calendrier. It is my every day watch.
Thanks guys. Yes, i had my Octa Reserve for over a year, which served me well. The additional date complication was useful ... except that i still found myself thinking of the CS all the time. And i just can't afford having both. And so i finally took the plunge. And what a well-worth plunge it has been.
Indeed, the Calendrier is the next must-have piece for me - so am saving up for that next one! Glad that you're enjoying yours ...
I also prefer the 40 mm CS.
Thanks for your pics !
Emmanuel
To me, the CS just sings.
I read somewhere that it is FPJ's favorite model.
Regarding 40mm and 38mm - I think it's simply a matter of personal style and taste. Both are correct. (I will confess a preference for the 40...)
It is a very nice piece!
Wear it in the best of health!
