The mythical ref. 1563

The Patek Philippe reference 1563 combines the split-seconds chronograph complication of reference 1436 with the waterproof case design of reference 1463 (aka the "Tasti Tondi", the round buttons). Only three examples are known to exist, all cased in yell

I believe the 1463 & 1563 share the same case & pusher design, so I would think so

Although I think "tasti tondi" would typically cause people to think of the 1463 as it is more frequently seen in auctions (and auction houses seem to really love nicknames!). There are only three known examples of the 1563, this example from the Patek Mu

Possibly my favorite Museum piece being displayed, Duke Ellington's 1563

Patek brought many amazing pieces from their museum to put on display at the Grand Exhibition. One of my favorites was Duke Ellington's 1563. I managed to take some photos that turned out well and hope others may enjoy them. From Patek's catalog: (BTW, th

Patek Philippe 5370P - an owner's review

I have owned the 5370P now for 4-5 months and have had several opportunities to wear it and see how it felt as a part of my collection. I think one can often look at watches for sale and imagine how it will feel if one owned it. There always needs to be a

Chronographs (with or without additional complication) before Basel 2013

When we look at the evolution of the Patek Philippe chronograph (in general) it perfectly illustrates its uninterrupted, consistent quality of watchmaking the company has practiced throughout its history, something hardly any of its rivals can match. Firs

May I share with you a few pics ?

I will not add any comment, the article from Jerôme is perfect and very comprehensive. I just want to underline the fact that in Paris we were very proud to have the opportunity to get this presentation during the two events. It symbolizes for us a come-b

For your Lady's eyes only, agent 7071 and its new calibre CH 29-535 PS!

When the Patek Philippe 5959 was launched in 2005 it was a real and full surprise to discover this absolutely purist watch and its split seconds chronograph calibre that is still (and may for ever remain?) the thinnest of its kind. The watch is a dream pi
