I traded my Tonda PF Micro Rotor for the Tonda GT Big Date.

I'm happy with the trade. The GT is a pure "sport watch" in my opinion. The Tonda PF Micro Rotor is a "business casual watch," more refined but not really a sport watch in the truest sense. Here is my Tonda GT Big Date on a rubber strap with "khaki dial."

The PF I miss: Tonda GT Big Date

I owned a Parmigiani Tonda GT Big Date for a while, and found it to be a seriously underrated integrated sports watch. This was the piece that made me want to “upgrade” to a PF Micro-rotor Tonda, but if I’m honest, I much preferred the GT. I ended up part

PF used this gong design at least once before, in 2014, with the Toric Resonance 3.

Photos from Monochrome. The following is excerpted from the 2014 Monochrome article. "A normal minute repeater gong covers up to 1,5 times the perimeter of the movement. When the gong exceeds that and goes around the movement more than 1,5 times, it is ca

I have a strong personal preference for white metal and between the two white metals here, platinum is my easy choice. Once you've experienced a platinum Toric, all other metals pale in comparison. Having said that, rose gold would be number 2 for me. The

WG & PT

Are two of my favorite precious metals, although I do not own either as of today. The last time I looked at it seriously was a Cartier Tortue CPCP in PT and the metal looked cold and not very attractive on my wrist, especially compared to the warmth of th

Toric Memory Time: which metal?

The Toric Memory Time is one of my favorite Parmigiani Fleurier models. It has been crafted in all four precious metals . Despite my preference for the warmth of coloured gold, my favorite here is probably the platinum version, as I'm not entirely convinc

The Almost-Perfect PF Tonda

I owned the Parmigiani Fleurier PF Micro-Rotor Tonda for a while, and recently parted ways with it due to a couple of flaws that impacted my experience with it. Here’s my honest owner review. - Dial: the warm gray hand-guilloched dial is subtle. The close
