The 6138 was my faithful companion from second year in med. school in 1976 until the late eighty's, when it just stopped working. Then I bought a Seiko quartz. My only quartz I ever had. I still have the 6138 in my collection, after 20 years being broken
The 21 jewel Seiko 6138A was first released in 1969, and was the first fully integrated two-register automatic chronograph with a column wheel and vertical clutch and 21600 bph. I purchased this last Christmas Eve “Eve” 12-23-23 while browsing
