The 21 jewel Seiko 6138A was first released in 1969, and was the first fully integrated two-register automatic chronograph with a column wheel and vertical clutch and 21600 bph.
I purchased this last Christmas Eve “Eve” 12-23-23 while browsing a local antique shop. I literally bought it off the shopkeepers wrist. He had taken it in on trade and had made it his daily wear. He lacked sentimentality concerning the piece and I purchased it reasonably.
As we head into the rapidly approaching Holiday season of Halloween, Thanksgiving, Hanukkah, & Christmas, I plan on wearing it more often. Being retired and living on the Gulf Coast I have no worries about sliding this massive case under a dress shirt sleeve.

It’s got a lot “under the hood” very historical horological movement for sure.
